1. The short version

Hetivo.com sets no cookies

This website places no cookies of any kind on your device — not necessary ones, not analytics, not advertising. We use no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting and no third-party content networks. Nothing you do here is tracked, profiled, or shared with advertisers.

That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly, so the rest of this page explains what we mean and how you can verify it for yourself.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On your next visit the browser sends it back, which lets the site recognise your device. Cookies are commonly grouped by purpose:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, for example to keep you logged in or remember what is in a basket.
  • Preference — remember choices such as language or theme.
  • Analytics — count visitors and show how pages are used.
  • Marketing / advertising — follow people across websites to target advertising. These are the most intrusive and always require consent.

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR, a website must obtain your consent before storing anything in the last three categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are exempt.

3. What this site uses

None of the above. The table is intentionally empty:

CategoryUsed on hetivo.com?Detail
Strictly necessaryNoneThe site is static and has no login or session, so none are needed.
PreferenceNoneThere are no settings for us to remember.
AnalyticsNoneWe run no analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no self-hosted alternative.
Marketing / advertisingNoneWe run no advertising and no remarketing pixels.

You can confirm this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Application or Storage tab, and look at the cookies for hetivo.com. You will find the list empty.

4. Why there is no cookie banner

Consent is only required where a site stores or accesses information on your device for non-essential purposes. Because we store nothing at all, there is nothing to consent to — so asking you to click "Accept" would be a meaningless formality.

We would rather not collect the data in the first place than collect it and ask you to approve it.

This position follows Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés) and the guidance of the French data protection authority, the CNIL, which require consent only where information is stored on or read from a user's device for non-essential purposes.

5. Third-party content

Third-party embeds — web fonts, video players, maps, social widgets — are a common hidden source of tracking. Even when they set no cookie, loading one sends your IP address and browser details to the company that hosts it.

This site loads no third-party resources. Every font, image and stylesheet is served from hetivo.com itself. In particular, our web fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a font CDN, so your IP address is never disclosed to a font provider.

The only third party involved in your visit is Netlify, our hosting provider, whose servers deliver the page you are reading. Netlify records standard server logs — including your IP address — as a necessary part of delivering and protecting the site. This is server-side logging, not a cookie, and it is covered in our Privacy Policy.

6. Other storage technologies

Cookies are not the only way a site can store data on your device. For completeness, we also use none of the following:

  • Local storage or session storage
  • IndexedDB
  • Web beacons, tracking pixels and clear GIFs
  • Device or browser fingerprinting

7. How to control cookies anyway

Although we set none, you may want to manage cookies from other sites. Every major browser lets you view and delete stored cookies and block future ones — usually under Settings → Privacy:

  • Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Brave all provide these controls in their privacy settings.
  • Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards all storage when you close it.

Blocking cookies globally will not affect this website in any way, since it does not rely on them.

8. Our products

This policy covers the hetivo.com marketing website only. Our products — Hetigo, Mecanix, Hetidrive, Hettos and Hetipetty — are applications with user accounts, and they do use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. Each product has its own privacy and cookie terms, provided to customers as part of their agreement with us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce cookies or analytics on this site, we will update this page before doing so and, where the law requires consent, ask for it properly through a banner that lets you refuse as easily as accept. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
